I have been searching for a picture of Emerald but there is one picture of a female oread. One. So I decided to broaden my search to more earthy ran than just stony. And I found an image that kind of portrays Emerald as I see her (not really physically but in regards to her personality and her approach to life). She is friendly and open to new experiences and making friends. Even though she has lived alone for the vast majority of her life, she has taken to friends and civilization like a stone to lava. In the picture below, this is how I picture Emerald expect with crystalline spikes instead of branches.

Some of you (especially rhastapopolus) are probably wondering how this Ex-Paladin things works. Here's an outline of the issue, with relevant parts given empahsis. Ex-Paladins
A paladin who ceases to be lawful good, who willfully commits an evil act (well, we stopped him from eating a person, but it was close), or who violates the code of conduct loses all paladin spells and class features (including the service of the paladin's mount, but not weapon, armor, and shield proficiencies). She may not progress any further in levels as a paladin. She regains her abilities and advancement potential if she atones for her violations (see the atonement spell description), as appropriate. This means that until Atonement, Paladino loses everything related to his class except his BAB, Saves (but still loses his Cha bonus to them), and the ability to use the armor, weapons, and shields he's been trained to use. Code of Conduct: A paladin must be of lawful good alignment and loses all class features except proficiencies if she ever willingly commits an evil act. Additionally, a paladin's code requires that she respect legitimate authority, act with honor (not lying, not cheating, not using poison, and so forth ), help those in need (provided they do not use the help for evil or chaotic ends), and punish those who harm or threaten innocents (this is the part he was "trying to uphold"). Paladino's options: We haven't spoken yet, so there may be choices other than these.
Atonement: (I'm only including relevant parts- it's a long-winded spell) 5th Level Cleric& 5th level Druid spell.
- This spell removes the burden of misdeeds from the subject. The creature seeking atonement must be truly repentant and desirous of setting right its misdeeds... in the case of a creature atoning for deliberate misdeeds, you must intercede with your deity (requiring you to expend 2,500 gp in rare incense and offerings).
- Restore Class: A paladin... who has lost her class features due to violating the alignment restrictions of her class may have her class features restored by this spell.
Become an Anti-Paladin:- This option is my least favorite- unless rhastapopolus has a good explanation or can justify staying with the party, I would have to take control of his newly-evil character.
Choose to follow another Deity:- Another version of Atonement, however I would wave the 2,500 gp cost providing that Paladino accepted the deity of the caster as his own.
- He could also choose another deity and change his class to Warpriest, rebuilding his character
Abandon Paladin- Paladino could choose none of the above options, and simply start taking levels in another class (multiclass). He still has his feats, his weapons, his BAB and saves, so he's basically a Warrior (NPC Class) with a better Will Save and more class skills.
