After delivering a hefty bribe to a group of Isgerian freedom fighters, your group returned to its base of operations in Canorate, the Molthuni capital. Upon being debriefed, your handler, a General called Korrak directed you to travel to the border town of Fort Ramgate. There is a mission waiting for you there, and the operation will be handled by a General called Hakar.
You have just arrived at the heavily fortified town of Fort Ramgate. Your trip has been uneventful. The guards at the Southern Gate have just cleared you for entry and you are standing in a fairly busy dirt street. Around you merchants and peddlers shuffle in to begin a day of tending to the soldiers, camp followers, and other folk who call Fort Ramgate home.
What do you do?

After passing through the gates Koboku finds the highest ranking soldier he can
"Where might I be able to find General Hakar, Soldier? And where might one find some drink to sate my thirst?"
After getting the location of the General, Koboku took a look around the streets as he headed for the nearest Tavern. Upon entering the tavern Koboku found a spot at the bar and ordered a mug of wine as he slipped the bartender a gold coin.
"What is the good word my friend, any interesting news?"
After listening to the what bartender said he moved to a table in the corner and enjoyed his ale. Sitting there he carefully listened to everyone else in the tavern trying to see if there were any rumors or information he could make out above the ambient noise of from the rest of the tavern.

Upon entering the town, Orix follows his compatriot Koboku to the tavern. However instead of entering the tavern, he finds a spot near the entrance and leans nonchalantly against the wall or perhaps takes a seat on a bench if there is one. He waits patiently for his comrades to let him know that they are ready to report to the general, all the while making an effort to draw as little attention to himself as possible. While waiting, he keeps a sharp eye out for a man wearing the attire of a general. Should he see a man who he thinks is the general, Orix will approach him and (after confirming his identity) inform him that his party has arrived.

Less than eager to enter the loud dirty town, Rholne follows a bit behind two of her colleagues, Koboku and Orix. She sees the men make for the tavern soon after entering the gates, like they usually do. Drink doesn't sound like such a bad idea. Rholne looks up into the sky to see the soot grey wings of Mictla. Rholne gestures to the owl and it lands on the roof of the tavern. Rholne goes inside givng Orix a cursory nod on her way. Rholne scans the room for for anything out of the ordinary

Turrik follows his comrades to the tavern, where he guides Gecky the gecko to the stables. While they might not be here long, he had learned that humans were a bit alarmed by large lizards, and Gecky didn't truly mind the enclosed space. Turrik then quietly unpacks a small altar from the pack strapped to Gecky, and offers a short prayer to Abadar, before refilling his holy symbol with ale and heading out to find his comrades.

Roc follows his companions closely, entering the bar silently and finding a seat in the corner of the bar, allowing him to view the other patrons while keeping his back against a wall.

You all quickly notice that there are several factors differentiating this scene from the normal hustle-and-bustle of a morning in town. First, nearly all of the people inside the walls are wearing the uniform of the Molthuni military, the exceptions to this rule being the peddlers and merchants. Second, the merchants seem to come in two varities, those selling food and drink, and those selling weapons, bits of armor, clothes, and various trinkets that appear to have been taken from dead bodies. Third, most of the traffic, including a group of frantic stonemasons, appears to be flowing north.
Koboku Most of the soldiers you see are young messengers and common infantry. You hear faint shouting far to the north, but before investigating, a young lieutenant catches your eye as he stumbles out of the tavern, hastily throwing on his helmet. He stumbles a little.
"The General? He'll be on the frontlines. The North Wall. Probably hoping those Nirmathi bastards don't start too early today."
You step into the tavern, The Sword and Hammer, and the frenzied preparations outside disappear entirely. Perpetually dark and hazy, the Sword has all of the aromas you've come to know and love in a tavern; stale beer, sweat, tobacco, vomit, urine, and stewed meat. The bartender, a youngish man with one eye and one arm looks you over as he pours.
"Ramsgate stands," he shrugs, "That's as good a word as any. Interesting news is just as hard to come by, I'm afraid. The Nirmathi attack, the walls hold, they retreat and come back tomorrow. Enjoy that, it's the last bottle til next Oathday."
From your seat in the corner you can see the few patrons who apparently have nowhere to be. You hear a lot of men and women talking, some gossip, but none of it strikes you as being particularly important.
Orix You find a nice unobtrusive spot near the mouth of the alleyway between the tavern and the building next door. You see many soldiers bustling about, most of them heading north, though you see several of the messenger boys entering and exiting the same large wooden door directly across from you. You do not, however, spot General Hakar as you wait.
Rholne You see nothing out of the ordinary, but the stout you order is quite good.
Turrik You arrive at the stable, and the lead groom's eyes get big.
"What in the Lady's name...?"
The thunderstruck boy simply watches you dismount the gecko, stable it, and pray at your altar.
Roc You take a seat at the table with Koboku. There unfortunately, isn't much to see.

After finishing half of his wine Koboku wipes his mouth with the back of his gloved hand. Seeing that there was nothing of too much interest Koboku stands up and motions to Roc.
"I'm going to head out and find the general at the North Wall. Let Rholne and Torrik know to come once they are ready"
As Koboku exits the tavern he gives a nod to Orix and and points north. After taking one final look around the streets Koboku steps into the street and heads north to the North Wall.

Orix sees his companion exit the tavern and give him a nod. He leaves his position near the alley and begins heading in the direction indicated by the Summoner, towards the general.

Turrik tosses the stable boy a gold coin as he leaves. "Gecky likes meat and bugs. Just a light meal, for now." He sees his comrades in the street, and follows them.

Rholne finishes off her beer, leaves a tip and silently leaves the tavern. She motions to Mictla that it's time to go then looks for the others and heads their way.

Roc moves to the bar to address the bartender.
How long has this been going on for? and what do these Nirmathi hope to gain from these attacks?
he asks in a low voice

Turrik
The moon-eyed boy is not so surprised that he fails to catch your coin. He peers at it for a moment, realizing that you must be some sort of adventurer, and doesn't even bite the gold before shoving it into his pocket.
"Yes sir, a light meal, sir."
Koboku, Orix, and Rholne The three of you begin your trek to the north wall, and are quickly joined by Turrik. The hustle and bustle of the city preparing for war continues as the road twists and turns, an defensive feature meant to facilitate guerilla warfare should the fort fall. As you near the north wall, you begin to hear sounds of battle.
Roc The man at the bar looks up at you, narrowing his good eye momentarily. It dawns on him that you must be new, and are not, in fact, making fun of him.
"Boyo, they've been attacking us ever since we laid down the first stone. Why do you think they call it Ramsgate? Because no matter how many Nirmathi fools crush themselves against our gates, they don't fall."
He tilts his head at you slightly in regard to your second question. He's clearly not used to thinking about why this fight is happening, just that it is.
"The Nirmathi are rebels. They want what all rebels want, chaos and the destruction of Molthune. Nevermind the fact that they ARE Molthuni themselves. Pah! We'll take our land back, you mark my words."

Orix also just keeps walking. He is unsurprised when he hears the sound of a battle ensuing, as he was made aware that the general was on the front lines. He proceeds to make his way to the north wall.

Koboku takes note of the sounds of battle and begins summoning his Eidolon.
"Be prepared in case we need to give a helping hand everyone"
One he finishes summoning his Eidolon (takes 1 min) his look has changed. Koboku appears to have a slight golden glow and have grown a few inches taller.

You pause as Koboku summons his eidolon, a ritual you've seen on several occasions, and proceed to the North Wall. The wall is lined with defenders carrying bows, each with a pole-arm beside them in case the Nirmathi scale the walls. This early in the morning, the fighting looks half-hearted, and as you scale the wall, you realize that the Nirmathi force is little more than a scouting party sent to test the awareness of the Ramsgate defenses.
Nevertheless, the men on the wall are being encouraged by a large man in a breastplate and a General's insignia on his uniform. He is clearly Kellid-born, lean and muscular, with black hair and sullen blue eyes, a long scar frames his face and neck before disappearing beneath his collar. He sees you and gestures with his greatsword.
"Get those bows unslung and move your selves down to the end of the line! These Nirmathi pigs think they can outwit me!? Ha! I piss better strategy! Now move!"
The General doesn't wait for a response before turning back to the line.
"Draw and fire, you halfwits! Look how they run when you stick 'em with a little arrow!"

Not wasting a second, Orix acknowledges the general's order. He quickly and calmly moves down the line until he finds an open position and draws his shortbow. He draws an arrow and begins to scan the enemy ranks for a target...
